Outreach

As part of the Mission Statement Pittsburgh Passion would like to nurture the desire to help that is inherent to our young people. As part of the mission Passion players are and will be participating in various outreach opportunities to teach our player about community service and helping others.


Pittsburgh Passion is proud to participate in the following Outreach Programs:

          

Toys for Tots Campaign

 In 1947 Diane Hendricks the wife of Major Bill Hendricks made a homemade Raggedy Ann Doll. It was her intention to donate the doll to a child in need. She could not find an organization to accept and distribute her gift so she asked her Husband to come up with  a way to collect and distribute toys to children in need, and Toy’s for Tot’s was formed. Sixty seven years later the Marines have collected and distributed 313 Million toys. The things that can be accomplished when you act from the heart are endless.

This Christmas season the Passion Family collected and donated new unwrapped toys to help the Marines fulfill their Semper Fi commitment to helping children in need. In keeping with Passion’s mission, we will also help the Marines sort and bag toys at the local distribution center.


Pennsylvania State Police Stuffed Animal Collection

Passion partnered with the Pennsylvania State Police--Gibsonia Barracks to collect stuffed animals. This has been such a comforting expression of kindness to children that, by no fault of their own, find themselves in traumatic situations.
